Each artwork at Shangri La has a story — from the moment of its making, to its journey to Honolulu, to its current status as a celebrated artwork in our museum collection. These object narratives are key insights into connecting with the producing culture(s). The exhibition encouraged not only our audiences, but also our staff and guides, to think about our spaces and collections in new ways.
