Artifacts In Play With Assassin’s Creed® Mirage

February 27, 2025 - August 30, 2025
Step into this exhibition to find out about the fascinating collaboration between Shangri La and Ubisoft.

In 2023, the video game publisher Ubisoft partnered with the Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design to include two objects from their historic collection in the video game Assassin’s Creed® Mirage. In this exhibition, discover these precious artifacts and learn how they are used in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.

The game’s action takes place in 9th century Baghdad, the capital of the mighty Abbasid caliphate. More than just a city, Baghdad is the center of the world. At the crossroads of the silk routes, it is a place of political power, scientific innovation, cultural knowledge and progress.

The city, entirely destroyed by the Mongols in 1258, was digitally reconstructed by Ubisoft teams with the help of historical and cultural experts.

Ubisoft also consulted the collections of renowned cultural institutions such as Shangri La, to showcase real objects in the game. Two astonishing objects from Shangri La were selected and are featured in Assassin’s Creed Mirage: the Blown Glass Jar with Trailed Zigzag Decoration and the Twelve-Sided Bronze Mortar with Animal Finials and Vegetal Motif Panels.
