Doris Duke Foundation x Hawai'i Triennial 2025: Rebirth, Resilience & Resistance
Join us for an inspiring conversation on the power of Rebirth, Resilience, and Resistance through the voices of women shaping Hawai‘i’s cultural, artistic, and culinary landscapes.
This discussion features an esteemed panel of female leaders, including moderator Maurine Knighton, Chief Program Officer at the Doris Duke Foundation, and panelists: award-winning Chef Ahu Hettema; Gish honoree, Kumu Hula, and activist Vicky Holt Takamine; and conservationist and HT25 artist Melissa Chimera. Together, they will explore how women reclaim traditions and memory, navigate adversity, and challenge dominant narratives through their work.
Through storytelling, cultural practice, and creative expression, our panelists will discuss how their respective fields serve as sites of resistance, healing, and transformation. This is a unique opportunity to engage with artists and thought leaders at the forefront of cultural preservation and innovation.
Don’t miss this powerful gathering celebrating the strength and vision of women in Hawai‘i and beyond.
