The Muhammadan Bean: The Secret History of Islam and Coffee
Abdul-Rehman Malik
From the secretive circles of Yemen's ancient Sufi mystics to the Constantinople court of the Ottoman Sultans to the backstreets of Mercantile London, coffee has changed every society that fell under its heady sway. Abdul-Rehman Malik has spent a lifetime searching for the soul of coffee. Together with coffee legend Mokhtar Alkhanshali, founder of the Port of Mokha coffee company and the subject of Dave Eggers' bestselling book The Monk of Mokha, they explore the history, culture, politics and spirituality of coffee. In this one-day only coffeehouse experience, come and taste some of the rarest and most celebrated coffee in the world!
