In conversation with Dr. Sai Bhatawadekar, Director of the Center for South Asian Studies, Hari will show clips and discuss his movie, The Problem with Apu.

Hari Kondabolu

Hari Kondabolu is a comedian, writer & podcaster based in Brooklyn, NY. He has been described by The NY Times as “one of the most exciting political comics in stand-up today.”

Together, they will examine the East Indian cartoon character Apu from The Simpsons and South Asian representation in popular media.

Presented by Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design in partnership with the International Cultural Studies Graduate Certificate Program, University of Hawaii at Manoa.
